Striped Jumpsuit - Now 40% Off

June 27, 2018

Jumpsuit: LOFT, Bag: Zara (similar here), Shoes: Zara, Scarf: Banana Republic, Earrings: Gifted (similar here)

Hi everyone! I hope you’re having a great week so far. I just started Sweat by Kayla Itsines. I’ve seen so many ladies achieve major success by this quick and simple exercise app that I decided to try it out myself. I’m the type of person that gets bored easily with a workout routine. I like to change it up but I also don’t like something too complicated. I signed up for Alexia Clark’s workouts earlier this year and while they are crazy amazing, I found myself having trouble trying to find the space, machinery and time to do them. Sweat workouts are 28 minutes and can be done without machinery. While I’ve gone to the gym to do the workouts, you can easily do them in the comfort of your home. I’m so excited to be working out more often now because it truly puts me in such a better mood. I feel like I start the day on a better foot after working out.

Anyway, I wanted to share this adorable striped jumpsuit. It's currently 40% off during LOFT's 4th of July sale happening right now. I’ve been on a jumpsuit kick lately as you can tell and well you can never go wrong with stripes. While I’ll admit that I could’ve gone down a size, I’m hoping by getting a size smaller I can wear this for many years to come! I got major farm girl vibes from this jump suit but in a good way. It almost made me want to grow a garden - almost. But it is seriously one of the comfiest jumpsuits I’ve ever owned and I’m already thinking of all the ways I can dress it up and dress it down. And the scarf! I’ve always wanted to wear a scarf this way, I just always felt that it was so chic and honestly, it gave me like a little bit more confidence, I’m not even going to lie. The scarf just made me feel put together, ya know? And it has lemons! Come on, how could I not buy it ;)

Anyway, y’all let me stop blabbering. I hope you all have an amazing Wednesday and stay tuned for some exciting news coming very, very soon!

Thanks so much for reading today’s post!

Hat: Aerie (similar here), Top: Lou & Grey, Jeans: Abercrombie & Fitch, Bag: Zara (similar here), Wedges: Steve Madden; Lippie: Huda Beauty in color 'Venus'
Happy Monday, everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful and restful weekend. I did! I was at the horse races yesterday and it was so fun! I've also been watching the World Cup non-stop, I couldn't help but watch on my phone while at the horse races. Let's say I'm good at multi-tasking? haha

I couldn't wait to share this fringe sweater! I've been obsessed with white on white outfits, I think it just looks so fresh for summer. A beautiful tan and an all white outfit - so perfect! This fringe sweater is one of my first pieces from Lou & Grey, you can find them at LOFT and it's such a good mix of texture and simplicity. If that even makes sense. I'm wearing an regular XS and it fits great, even a little oversized. I can't wait to wear this with blue denim and ripped shorts!

What are your favorite pieces of the summer? Let me know in the comments below.

Thanks so much for reading' today's post!

Listening to your body

June 13, 2018

Jumpsuit: LOFT (wearing a size 2P), Hat: Aerie (similar here), Wedges: Treasure & Bond, (wearing a size 6, they run TTS) Bag: Zara (my favorite purchase of the summer!)

Happy Wednesday, everyone! The past couple of days have been ones of recovery because I got this horrible flu-like virus that totally left me out of the count. I had been so busy the weeks prior, prepping for blog posts, going to events, shooting for the blog, training for a 5k, spending time with family, friends and Tom - and dealing with an even scarier health situation. I had a found a lump in my neck and after weeks of thinking it would go away, it didn't and after lots of doctor consultation, I went in for a biopsy to make sure it wasn't malignant. Thankfully it wasn't and all of craziness took a toll on my body. When I ended up with a 103 fever last Friday and terrible aches all over my body, I was exhausted. So beyond exhausted. I realized I hadn't had a decent night of sleep in weeks. I had just been - go, go, go! for weeks and my body was trying to tell me to slow down and just stop.

So I finally stopped and listened to my body. It was telling me to slow it down and I didn't listen until I was forced to listen. I'm taking it easy now and resting when I can. I'm trying not to push myself too hard this month and I'm focusing on spending quality time with my loved ones.

Sometimes you just have to slow it down. Hope you have an amazing rest of your week!

Thanks for reading today's post!

Friday Fives: 5 Books that changed my life

June 1, 2018

Hat: Aerie, (similar here), Dress: Shein (wearing a size XS), Belt: J. Crew (similar here), Wedges: Treasure and Bond

Happy 1st of June, y'all! I've been saying y'all way too much lately? Is it still a southern thing or can this city girl get away with saying it? Haha! Happy Friday and Happy 1st of June! I can't believe it's basically summer. I hope this month brings you many, happy new beginnings, new challenges to face and new oppportunities to explore. I've been feeling really positive lately and I couldn't help but want to share. As I mentioned in my last post, the month of May ended up being quite a motivational month and I surely did not intend on it being that way, but God always knows what you need. I can't even know how it began but last month ended up being quite a productive month. I wrote the most blogposts in a month than I've ever written, I really pushed myself during workouts, I was reading and listening to a lot of inspirational material and I finished a great book which inspired this very post.

I would consider myself a very spiritual person. I've always believed in God, I went to the church and went to catholic school but my beliefs have certainly changed and after some really trying times in my life, I've learned to hold onto my faith tightly. I wanted to share 5 books that I read that helped me on my journey. They helped me remain positive, reassured me when I was anxious, inspired me when I needed it and reminded me that God is always in control and to trust that goodness will always come you way.

I hope I can express how much these books helped me, led me, taught me, and inspired me to pursue my creative desires, to become a better person and to just to kind.

Spirit Junkie by Gabrielle Bernstein - I stumbled across this book on the Barnes & Noble website when I was desperate for a pick me up. I had just been dumped, was on a major emotional rollercoaster and at 23 years old I thought I had to have it all figured out. It was a completely random purchase but I believe everything happens for a reason. I ordered it and as soon as it came in the mail I started reading it and simply couldn't put it down. I had major anxiety and reading Gabrielle's experience as a PR publicist and party girl and dealing with all the issues and anxieties she dealt with -- I totally could relate. Her explanations for wanting to change her life and accept the ups and downs of a spiritual journey spoke to me profoundly. I was ready to overcome my fears and worries and this book helped me to do that. I recommend it to everyone I know because it was so helpful for me.

The Secret by Rhonda Byrne - As a child I had always heard of the Law of Attraction and in some ways I practiced it without even knowing but as an adult I had a harder time understanding the concept. A friend of mine lent me her copy and told me to just read it because it helped her, so what did I do? I put it under my bed and completely forgot about it LOL no, but seriously that's what happened. I meant to read it, but here's where the universe stepped in, I didn't end up reading it until I went on vacation about a year and a half later and I ended up needing it right then and there. I couldn't have read it at a better time. The book explains how to attract what you want in your life whether it be love, success, wealth, health, whatever it is, but it teaches you how to welcome exactly what you want into your life. Such a good read! I have a copy of it on my kindle that I reread whenever I'm in the middle of books.

Manuscript Found in Accra by Paulo Coelho - The genius author famously known for his book "The Alchemist" also wrote Manuscript Found in Accra -- another book I found by accident, but was it really an accident :). My Dad had purchased this book for my brother who was having some tough teenage years and my brother who was not a big reader finished this book in a day and swore by it. It's about a wise man speaking truths in Jerusalem in the year 1099. Pretty absurd if you ask me but the old wise man spoke about loyalty, fear, love, beauty and elegance amongst many other things. "His words offer truth and guidance, and reveal the human values that have endured throughout time—then as now, his words reveal who we are, what we fear and what we hope for the future."

Wishes Fulfilled: Mastering the Art of Manifesting by Wayne W. Dyer - I discovered this book through Dulce Candy the beauty vlogger. She's always so positive and discussed manifesting your desires and shared how much she loved this book. I read it after I read the secret but the message was very similar. The book discusses how to discover your heart's greatest desires and how to practice manifesting them so they can appear in your life.

Big Magic: Creative Living Beyond Fear by Elizabeth Gilbert - This book is by far one of the best books I've read in a long time! I just finished this book and was inspired to write this book because I felt so great after reading it. Elizabeth Gilbert, famous for writing Eat, Pray, Love is the author behind Big Magic and it's the perfect book for those sweet souls wanting to live a creative life. I felt invincible after reading this book. I was reminded that nothing worth having comes easy and it might just take years and years of practicing your craft until you have that opportunity to shine but it will all be worth it. This is a must read for all you creatives out there!

This was such a fun post to write and I hope that you enjoyed it. Let me know if you've read any of these or if you end up reading them in the future. I'd love to hear your thoughts. I'm even thinking of creating a book club with y'all? Let me know what you think in the comments below!

Thanks so much for reading today's post!
