Summer Wish List

May 21, 2015

Summer is officially a few weeks away, and I couldn't be more excited. Bring on the sunshine, warm weather, and beach days! What are my two summer goals this year you ask? Travel and improve my health. I will be traveling to the beaches of Spain in July and I'm super ecstatic. Of course I don't know what else I will be packing but the palm tree cover-up, sunnies and pineapple bag will be in my suitcase :)

On to my getting healthy goal... this one is tough for me. I have made it a resolution to get fit and healthy for years now but it has never meant as much to me as it has this year. The older I get, the more obvious by body changes, but whoa I wasn't expecting it to change this much.  I've become more aware of how active I am, how many steps I take, and the types of exercises I am doing. Easy cardio routines have helped tremendously, like running and jumping rope.

I mean we all want to be healthy but sometimes we're tempted by the boxes of girl scout cookies on the table and we just can't say no, no? just me?

Traveling and getting healthy are on my summer to-do list, what's on yours? What items are you looking forward to purchasing this summer? Tell me below!

One of my resolutions this year was to step out of my comfort zone; I made a vow to be bold in my personal life and in terms of my style. This might not be bold for some but it's out of my box for me. It was time for me to try something different, a look you would not normally find me in but can I confess something? It felt fantastic. Stepping out of the box, and breaking through the walls that we confine ourselves to is exhilirating. It may be small steps in the beginning but looking back you will realize just how powerful those steps were.

Speaking of bold, I wanted to tell you all about my dear friend Jessica. We've been friends for 10 years now after meeting in high school, and we both had a love for beauty and fashion but it's taken us quite a while to truly pursue our passions. She started a beauty channel on YouTube and has many tutorial and hauls videos on her channel. I couldn't be more proud of her. Definitely check her out!

Happy Wednesday, everyone! Hope you're all having a great week so far. I was checking out some petite celebrities recently and I stumbled upon a monochromatic look that the stunning Mila Kunis was wearing. Monochromatic looks work excellently on petite frames. I've been into monochrome looks and love how they elongate the petite frame. She pulled off a beige ensemble and I was immediately inspired to try it out for myself. I wouldn't exactly call this look monochromatic but I was able to put together different shades of beige and I loved the result. I like the cleanliness and the flow when wearing monochrome outfits, or ensembles in different tones of the same color.

I've also really been into mixing casual and dressy pieces together. I'm a big fan of mixing and matching pieces that don't necessarily belong together. I called it balancing out my outfits/wardrobe.

I mixed and matched some neutrals and loved how it came out.

Thanks for reading!

Current Haircare Favorites

May 4, 2015

I have never had an extensive complicated hair care routine. As a child, I had really thin wavy hair that was pretty easy to manage but as I got older, naturally my hair changed, and maintaining it turned into detailed process. Over time I have learned what products I love, and which ones I would never repurchase. As of now, the above 4 products are my go-to, and here's why...

Ever since I was little I wanted long thick hair like Rapunzel, I was born with thin wavy hair, and my hair took forever to grow. I had heard Biotin worked wonders, and my hair stylist recommended it on my occasions. I finally tried it out about 1-2 months ago, and have seen such a difference in my hair. Not only has it grown quickly but it is so much stronger than it used to be. I take 1-2 pills daily, and am very pleased with the results.

To wash and condition my colored hair, I have found that the Matrix Biology Color Care Series works best for me. My hair is naturally a dark brown but I had dyed it red and after some time wanted my hair to be dark again, I got a black glaze. My hair is not the darkest it's ever been but the color has lasted thanks to these two. This shampoo and condition duo not only smells AMAZING, it leaves my hair feeling really clean, and light. It doesn't weigh down my hair, so A+ for those two!

This isn't the first time I mention the Josie Maran Argan Oil Hair Serum but I thought it deserved another quick mention. I've used this serum for almost 2 years now, and will continue to repurchase it. A little goes a long way! I use a small amount of this and run through my hair before blow drying and voila! I'm good to go!

Finally, in between washes and styling I use the Amika Dry Shampoo. I have tried every dry shampoo under the sun, literally I was determined to find one that worked for me, and I did! I found it at Sephora and will definitely repurchase. My scalp gets oily rather quickly but this shampoo has helped combat it. No complaints here :)
