Good Morning, loves! I wish you well as we start off this beautiful week. In NYC it's supposed to be gorgeous 60s-70s. Who's excited?! Me, for sure! The weather wasn't quite in the 60s this weekend but the sun was shining so bright that I couldn't help but grab my coat and head out the door and explore. Even though I'm a New Yorker by birth and now officially a resident I was raised right across the river in New Jersey -- just a little different than the hustle and bustle of NYC. You can say I've always been drawn to the exciting chaos that is the city, I've always pictured myself living here. So happy I could make my dream come true.

I've lived in Brooklyn now going on 3 months or so and I'm still exploring so much! I could never get sick of this city. Yesterday, I ended up to the Upper East Side to visit my friend Steven. We walked around a bit, passed Gracie Mansion (Whaddup DeBlasio) and made our way to the park. As we walked by the East river in the park 1) there were so many cute puppies 2) this was a completely different neighborhood than mine in Brooklyn. I was surrounded by the cutest dogs and families, kids running everywhere -- it was like I saw my future before my eyes! haha kidding! Anyway I digress -- that's what I love so much about this city. The diversity, there are all types of people and they all vary by neighborhood and it's so cool to see.

I can't wait to keep exploring as the weather warms up but until then I'll keep wandering as long as I'm bundled up in layers.

Mini Dress & OTK Boots

March 1, 2016

Hiiiiii babes! Happy Tuesday! Happy March! So much happy. Lots happened this past weekend, I turned 25, we had crazy beautiful weather and it was Leap Day. Woo! Yeah, I honestly can’t believe I’ve reached this age but hey, I’m super grateful! 25 - honestly I’ve never been so excited about my birthday and getting older before. The last few months, I was kind of freaking out but the more I thought about it, the more I embraced it. Now I haven’t actually said out loud that I am 25 but I’m accepting it. I feel like I have to get better at being an adult, and I’m not ready for all of this #adulting.
Not only was the weekend filled with family and friends the weather was AMAZING. February is known for super unpleasant weather but the weather gods gave me the beautiful gift of sunshine and 60s! Literally a dream come true. With weather like that you know I took full advantage and pulled out my favorite mini dress and OTK combo.
Now for sometime I was skeptical that petite women could pull off OTK boots especially those with shorter legs but I found the best pair on gilt.com! These Ava & Aiden black suede OTK boots hit about an inch above the knee and have a sleekest silhouette adding a bit of edge and chicness to any ensemble. I got tons of compliments on them and was thrilled that I could find a pair that we’re too tall for my legs.
Dress: ASOS, similar, Jacket: LOFT, OTK Boots: Ava & Aiden, Backpack: Forever 21, Bracelets: herehere, and here

I’m also really getting into backpacks! Mind you I haven’t used them since grammar school but I’m really digging them as of late. I’ve found a few cute ones like the one pictured from Forever 21.

I’m crossing my fingers that the weather continues this way so I can show you some great transitional styles!

Thanks for reading!

Maia
