I have officially fallen in love with a neighborhood. Yes, a neighborhood. One of my best girlfriends, Sammy, moved to Astoria, Queens about a month ago and I visited her over the weekend. I got the opportunity to wander and discover the gem that is Astoria. Commonly known for it's rich Greek culture and people, it has become quite a eclectic area filled with delicious restaurants, diverse bars and the friendliest people!
After doing some research, we agreed on going to a restaurant called Sweet Afton for brunch and it was absolutely fantastic! Such a cute spot. The rustic, folksy spot was the perfect place for brunch and it was so cozy! The food was phenomenal and so were the drinks ;)
We wandered around the neighborhood with our fully bellies after brunch and enjoyed the gorgeous sunshine. The weather was perfect for this studded leather jacket. I was so excited to wear it for the first time. I had been on the hunt for the perfect petite leather/pleather jacket for a while now and was gifted this one. Thanks Laura! :) It was a Christmas gift but due to our insane weather here in New York, I haven't had the chance to wear it! The jacket runs small, I'm wearing a regular sized medium and my only issue was that the sleeves were a tad bit long but overall the fit was great. I paired it with these old Abercrombie & Fitch jeans. These jeans are literally from my freshman year of high school! They always fit be a little big back then but they fit now and I've been able to style them differently. Now I'm fully embracing the ripped jeans and heels trend. It took long enough haha. Underneath my jacket is a super comfy J.Crew Factory tee and to add some color I wore a vibrant green Ralph Lauren Newbury Double Zip Satchel (a bigger version of my wine colored one!) and bright red lipstick.

Varsity Tee: Banana Republic, Military Button Up: American Eagle, Ripped Jeans: Gap, Slip-On Sneakers: Banana Republic, Sunnies: Urban Outfitters, Watch: old, similar, Handbag: old, Lipstick: Lolita
If you're on the East Coast like I am you're probably experiencing what feels like the longest winter ever. Well technically it's Spring but it's snowed just last Friday so clearly Mother Nature is really confused. This past weekend I went on a little well needed getaway to Delaware. It wasn't very far at all but far enough and they had loads of sunshine! The weather was so gorgeous it made me forget about the unexpected flurries that covered NJ the night before.
This sunny day called for my new sporty tee and some ripped jeans. I haven't jumped on the completely ripped apart jeans bandwagon but I'll eventually get there. Being that the weather has been inconsistent I went for an easy casual look. I threw on a pair on slip on sneakers and my sunnies and called it a day.
I initially wore my tee on its own but tied the button up around my waist to provide definition. It find difficult to wear some trends without looking like I'm swimming in my clothes. My goal is to look stylish and trendy but my main concern has always been the fit. If it looks like I'm borrowing my big sisters clothes then it's a no-go for me.
I must also sing the praises of the ripped jeans I wore. Praise the jeans gods at the Gap for creating these high waisted jeans for petites. The Gap has always had petite jeans but I've been on the hunt for high waisted petite jeans and it's been quite the mission. I'm seriously obsessed with these and ordered them in a darker wash and white! I did roll them in because I haven't taken them to the tailor yet but the fit is fantastic! Not only is the fit great but I love the light wash, they are stretchy enough but aren't jeggings, and make the booty look bomb. I can't say enough great things about these jeans!
All in all, it was a great beach day.
Hope you all have a great week!

Coffee Shop Vibes
March 16, 2015
I have a special place in my heart for coffee shops. The cozy ambiance and the homelike atmosphere is so comforting. After spending a chilly day walking around NYC, I felt it was only fitting to do some writing and planning in this french coffee shop. I recently have just finished figuring out the logistics on my Europe trip and have become obsessed with any French so I ended up in this coffee shop.
Being that it was so cold, I was layered up but my favorite item was my poncho. I was iffy about wearing it as a petite because ponchos can be overwhelming. I was inspired by another petite blogger and scooped up this dark green poncho from Forever 21 and have been obsessed with it ever since. On this particular day I decided to wear it over top a mauve/taupe colored turtleneck and a pair of high waisted jeans. I belted it to define my shape and added some gold accessories to dress up the look.
